I've been developing my earlier ideas about understanding code into a design for an interface. Here are some sketches of wireframes for the software. By my next presentation (during the week of the 19th of February), I plan to evolve these sketches into a complete design.
I just thought of a great (although slightly inaccurate) metaphor to describe your debugger to the layman.
Current debbuggers are like Keanu Reeves in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (They can only affect one point in time), whereas your debugger is like Keanu Reeves in the Matrix (Allowing you to see beyond face values and manipulate the flow of reality in real-time).

Hey David, this is some pretty cool stuff you're working on.
I was thinking about your problem and wondered if you had seen Google Analytics for websites? They have a view they call site overlay. They show you a live representation of your site and then lay some bargraphs over your links showing you their performance over time.
Maybe you could look into something similar, overlaying debug information to a running representation of software. Could open up some intersting possibilities. Add the debugger into the produced software, I've done some similar things when making Flash Apps since it was very hard to debug a client side app.
