Not necessarily. I really like the iBook overall, but the hardware designed is much more polished than the software. I haven't used Gnome, KDE, or any X environment in a long time. How are they?

I haven't done any XSLT, but I want to. I'd like to use it to generate HTML and PDF versions of the same content. Have you used it to create documents for printing? How is it?

I dunno, GNOME and KDE both sort of annoy me. I run GNU screen in a gnome-terminal just because I like anti-aliased fonts and transparency, but I almost never touch the other GNOME apps. With the exception of the taskbar thing, whatever it's called, which is decent, and the minesweeper clone, which is lots better than the original. I'm really holding out for a GUI that's not WIMPy.

No, I'm just using XSLT as a command-line mechanism to generate my web pages from simplified XML. The idea is that I'll be able to add img tags and whatnot to my standard layout if I feel like it (e.g. rounded corners to section boxes), thus achieving true separation of layout and content. Previously, that would have required modifying all my HTML files; now I'll just have to change my XSL stylesheet and run make.

Perhaps I'm misreading you, but do you realise you can hit the expose key again while dragging your item?

(You can also use the application switcher while dragging an item, if you want to bring a particular application to the front.)

Also Detox will get rid of bouncing Dock icons for you.
